History of Repetto

Repetto began in 1947 when Rose Repetto designed a pair of dancing shoes.
In 1956, Brigitte Bardot, an actress who was an aspiring dancer at the time, asked Repetto for a pair of shoes that would be as comfortable as her dance shoes, and they were worn in a movie, gaining great popularity.
This event led to the birth of Repetto’s original ballerina shoes, using the stitch-and-return method of sewing and then turning over.
In 1959, Repetto opened its first boutique in Paris.

Since 2005, Repetto has also been working with the Ecole Polytechnique de Compiègne to develop a new type of toe shoe that reduces noise and pain.
Because of their sturdy construction and comfort, they are used by ballet companies such as the Opéra National de Paris and the Opéra National de Lyon, as well as celebrities such as Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
