History of George Cox

George Cox is a brand of shoes and boots and was founded in 1906 in Northampton, England.
The founder was George James Cox, and in the beginning, the company gradually gained fame by making shoes for the leading stores and designers of the times.
A product called Broussel Creepers, launched in 1949, was the world’s first thick-soled shoe with a rubber sole.
These shoes became popular among the “teddy boys,” a term for delinquents in British youth culture at the time.
This was an opportunity for George Cox to establish itself as a famous brand.
In the 1970s, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren opened a store called Let It Rock in London, and George Cox’s Broussel Creepers were sold in the store.
With the punk boom, the brand came to be recognized as a favorite of punk band members and designers.
George Cox still produces its products in England more than 100 years after its establishment, and its brand power has never faded and is still patronized by many people.
