History of BLACKMEANS
BLACKMEANS was started in 2005 by Yujiro Komatsu.
The brand was established when Mr. Komatsu, after retiring from a well-known brand, told a leather factory where he was involved in production that he was going to retire, and the leather factory invited him to come work for them.
While working and joining the production and processing team, the leather factory established a Tokyo branch, which led him to establish BLACKMEANS in order to promote leather in Japan and around the world.
The brand concept includes “punk”, “motorcycle”, and “ethnic”.
These concepts were simply words that Mr. Komatsu used to put together what he liked, but when he started a leather goods brand in Japan, he thought of the brand name and logo himself in order to express his identity.
It is said that they arrived at this concept.
