History of Emanuel Ungaro
Born in 1933 in the south of France, fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro moved to Paris in 1956 at the age of 23 to study
under haute couture master Cristobal Balenciaga. He later founded his eponymous fashion label in 1965.
In 2012, the Italian Aeffe Group, which includes Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, and Pollini, signed an exclusive
partnership agreement.
In 2017, Marco Colagrossi was appointed creative director.
In December 2019, the brand’s founder, Emanuel Ungaro, passes away at the age of 86.
