History of Chrome Hearts

It is Chrome Hearts that Richard Stark established as a brand of silver accessories and jewelry in 1988.
I think the image of “silver accessories” is the biggest when it comes to Chrome Hearts.
In fact, the reason for the brand and the root of the brand is “leather products”.
When he was selling leather products for a living, he rode his Harley-Davidson around the United States selling them.
It was during this time that he met a fellow competitor, John Baumann (J), and they hit it off and started a joint venture.
While working on the business, the two of them couldn’t get enough of the existing motorcycle fashions.
They decided that they wanted to make their own products that they would want to wear, so they got Leonard Camphort, a metal engraver, involved and started a full-scale motorcycle fashion business.
This was the first encounter between the three men who are credited with founding the so-called Chrome Hearts.
In 1989, a friend of Richard’s directed the movie “Chopper Chips in Zombietown” and he was asked to do the costumes.
Another major breakthrough for Chrome Hearts came in 1992, when it won the top prize in the accessories category at the Fashion Designers Guild of America.
This led to an explosion of popularity, not only among motorcycle enthusiasts and rock musicians, but also among American celebrities, who quickly expanded their popularity to the general public.
