History of Tomo Koizumi


Influenced by John Galliano’s collections, the designer Tomoki Koizumi began to teach himself fashion design and sewing when he was in junior high school.
In 2011, he launched the brand Tomo Koizumi after a collection he created during his college days caught the eye of a select store owner.
In 2012, Ai Tominaga wore a Tomo Koizumi costume in the photo book “SUPER Ai Tominaga” to celebrate the 15th anniversary of her modeling debut. (The photo was taken by Leslie Kee).
In 2019, she held her first fashion show in New York with the support of Marc Jacobs and others. That same year, in September, she won the Special Selection Award at the 37th Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix.
In October 2020, he collaborated with Harbor City, a leading shopping mall in Hong Kong. A limited edition folding umbrella featuring the flower motif of Tomo Koizumi’s iconic ruffle dress will be launched in Hong Kong.
In 2021, it is still fresh in our memories that MISIA sang the national anthem at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics in a dress made by Tomo Koizumi!
