History of AKIKOAOKI
Designer Akiko Aoki studied fashion at Central Saint Martins (2009-2010).
From 2011-2012, she was a member of the advanced course at coconogacco, a school founded by fashion designer Yoshikazu Yamagata.
From 2012-2014, studied under Mikio Sakabe of MIKIO SAKABE. He then went independent.
He participated in the project “Tokyo Collection” produced by MIKIO SAKABE and Yoshikazu Yamagata of writtenafterwards for the 2015 Spring/Summer Tokyo Collection.
The first collection was presented under the project “Tokyo New Age”, which brings together young designers.
In 2018, Akiko Aoki was selected as a semi-finalist for the LVMH Young Fashion Designers Award.
In the same year, he received the Mainichi Fashion Newcomer Award.
In March 2019, Fritz Hansen and Akiko Aoki’s collaboration chair was exhibited at the “Textile Shop’s Attempts Exhibition – Fashion Designer Edition” at Fritz Hansen’s Aoyama flagship store, which became a hot topic.
