What is Y.O.N.?


Y.O.N. is a men’s fashion brand established in 2013.
The brand name “Y.O.N.” stands for “YOUTH OBEY NEWEST (young people create new things),” and the goal is to create things freely under less restrictive conditions.
As the concept suggests, the brand freely mixes various incompatible elements such as military taste, use of various materials, and modern silhouettes.
Items with a cold mercerized finish are synonymous with the brand.
The cold mercerization process is a process in which fabrics are subjected to caustic soda at a low temperature to give them luster, crispness, and strength.
Currently, there are very few factories that can perform this process, and it is known as an extremely rare and valuable material.
Trousers are one of the items that use this process, and they have become a symbolic item of the brand.

History of Y.O.N.


The designer is You Nishioka.
He established “Catchball&Sons” in 2013.
The collection was launched in the 2013-14 Fall/Winter season.
Due to differences in brand direction and brand name, the brand name was changed to “Y.O.N.” from the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season.
Along with the brand name change, the directly managed store “STORE CATCHBALL&SONS” was renamed and relaunched as “WESTHILL’S MARKET”.
It won the professional category of “Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix” in 2017.
