In 1839, Georges-Auguste Rechaux joined the company as a manufacturing engineer; he invented the pantograph, revolutionizing watchmaking.
In 1880, the brand’s symbol, the Maltese Cross, was created. It derives from a component of the movement located in the barrel to prevent the mainspring from being overwound.
In 1906, the first boutique opened on the Quai de l’Ile in Geneva.
In 1955, the brand unveiled the world’s thinnest watch, featuring a caliber just 1.64 mm thick. That same year, watches were presented to the leaders of four nations, including President Eisenhower, at the Geneva Peace Conference (the Four-Power Conference).
In 1979, the “Calista” was unveiled. It featured a total of 118 diamonds weighing 130 carats, setting a record price at the time.
In 1996, the luxury sports watch “Overseas” was launched.
