BAUME & MERCIER — Geneva Elegance Since 1830
With more than 190 years of watchmaking behind it, BAUME & MERCIER offers an elegance made for everyday
wear.
The maison is known for its in-house Baumatic movements and for collections that have come to define their
eras.
Here we introduce the appeal of BAUME & MERCIER.
What is BAUME & MERCIER?
BAUME & MERCIER is a Swiss watch maison founded in Geneva in 1830.
Its designs hold classical refinement and a contemporary sensibility in the same hand. The line-up spans
collections with distinct characters: the round-cased Clifton, the timeless Classima, the rectangular Hampton
and the twelve-sided Riviera.
In recent years the in-house Baumatic movement has become the heart of the collection, earning praise for
practical strengths such as a five-day power reserve.

History of BAUME & MERCIER
The story begins in 1830, when the Baume brothers founded a watch company under their family name. They
established Baume Brothers in London in 1851, and in 1885 the firm was honoured at the chronometer
competition held by the Kew Observatory.
In 1920 the watchmaker William Baume and the entrepreneur Paul Mercier founded the brand under the name it
still carries, and the following year it was awarded the Geneva Seal. The Riviera arrived in 1973, the Linea
in 1987 and the Hampton in 1994 — each a watch that captured its moment.
BAUME & MERCIER’s most popular items

The Clifton 10870. A 39mm steel model powered by the in-house Baumatic calibre BM13-1975 A. A guilloche
ice-blue dial and integrated bracelet keep it quietly refined, and the power reserve runs a full five days.

The Riviera 10866. A 42mm automatic that carries forward the twelve-sided case introduced with the Riviera
in 1973. A sunray-finished dial with riveted indexes is paired with a rubber strap that changes without
tools.

The Hampton 10862. A rectangular watch of 28.0 x 17.7mm that reinterprets Art Deco elegance. Its polished
steel case is set with 28 diamonds, finished with a black sunburst dial and a lozenge bracelet.
