In 2003, designer Araki Yanagawa established JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN.

The brand made its debut at the Tokyo Collections in the 2007 Spring/Summer season.
In 2008, the flagship store opened in Nakameguro, Tokyo, and the luxury line “JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN TAILOR,” which is handled only by directly managed stores, was also developed.
In 2010, a new line “THE SULLIVANS” debuted.
The women’s line was launched in the 2010 Spring/Summer season.
In the 2011 Fall-Winter season, the brand made its debut at the Paris Collections. Thereafter, the brand participated until the 2014 fall/winter season.
The brand has participated in the London Collections since the Fall/Winter 2017 season and has returned to the shows.
