What is Dr.Martens?

Dr.Martens is a German shoe brand.
Dr.Martens feature air-cushioned soles, known as bouncing soles, developed by Dr.Klaus Martin of Germany, and yellow stitching that circles the sole of the shoe.
Dr.Martens shoes are made using the world’s most durable Goodyear welt manufacturing method, which is superior in solidity, and the soles rarely peel off, even if the shoes are treated roughly.
The “1460” boot, commonly known as the “8-hole boot,” is a symbolic piece of the brand that was created in 1960.

History of Dr.Martens

This shoe brand started in 1945 when German doctor Klaus Martens developed the Dr.Martens sole.
When Klaus Martens had a skiing accident, he developed the Dr.Martens sole by inflating tire rubber material for rehabilitation.
It had excellent cushioning properties.
In 1947, with the encouragement of a friend from college, he commercialized the product from Germany.
In 1960, a technical partnership was formed with R. Grix, and the first boot, the 1460Z, was introduced.
Entering the 2000s, Dr.Martens introduced a variety of styles under the brand name “AirWair,” including traditional black shoes, sandals, and boots with steel toes.
Currently, the brand is collaborating with various brands such as Undercover, and its popularity is spreading all over the world.
