ADEAM — Everyday Luxury Where New York Meets Tokyo

Moving between its two home cities of New York and Tokyo, ADEAM creates clothing that brings together
artistry and functional beauty.
The brand has drawn attention in Japan and abroad for its take on luxury that fits into everyday life.
Here we introduce the appeal of ADEAM.

What is ADEAM?

ADEAM is a Japanese fashion brand designed by Hanako Maeda.

Drawing inspiration from its two hometowns of New York and Tokyo, the brand proposes an “everyday luxury”
that merges artistry with functional beauty. It also gives form to the duality found in a woman’s wardrobe
— a romantic sensibility paired with an architectural edge.

Committed to Made in Japan production, its pieces are also refreshingly practical: wrinkle-resistant and
washable at home. Every design is made to slip naturally into the wearer’s daily life.

History of ADEAM

Designer Hanako Maeda was born in Tokyo and raised in New York from the age of five. After studying art
history and cultural anthropology at Columbia University, she served as vice president and PR director of
FOXEY before launching her own label.

She started ADEAM with the Spring/Summer 2012 season, and the following year presented at New York Fashion
Week for the Autumn/Winter 2013 season. The brand’s name was created by rearranging the letters of her
family name, MAEDA. In 2024, Maeda also took on the role of creative director at FOXEY.
